Flat Fee Mediation

We offer mediation for a flat fee of $1000 per mediation session.  In order to do it as a flat fee, we require payment in full three days in advance.  This contemplates an approximately three hour mediation, as well as administrative time before and after the session, including a written summary from our mediator if desired.

Most mediation in Minnesota is offered on an hourly basis rather than a flat fee, and payment is made at the end of the session based on the hourly rate of the attorney who is mediating.  Sometimes mediators will have you pre-pay a retainer for the mediation, and at the end they will refund the extra or charge extra based on the actual time spent.  We have chosen to offer flat fee mediation for clients simply so mediation clients know exactly what they will be spending.  We also do mediation at an hourly rate, payable at the end of mediation, if you prefer.

Typically a mediation lasts for about three hours, mostly because parties usually begin losing steam if it goes much longer.  We typically offer mediation appointments at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM, which can often give us a little bit of room to run over if we are close to finalizing an agreement.

If you are ready to schedule a mediation, give us a call at 651-332-7650.
